Location

There are a few different locations for my music video as part of it links to the lyrics. the first 12 seconds of my music video will be located on east park field where Sophie will be stood on the hill with her arms in the air. I will use about 24 shots for the first 12 seconds as the will cut from shot to shot and be fast based and to the music to make it interesting for the audience.
For the next part of my video or possibly withing the first 12 seconds i will film in the theatre at college where Sophie will perform in there with black clothes and glow sticks/glow in the dark paint and i will film in the dark so she will glow up.

Location

Recording studio
Lots of different locations eg. bedroom/garden/sat on scooter/park/green/classrom/outside college

Casting For 'Mr Policeman'

When thinking about the casting for my music video i started to consider the type of person i could use. I needed them to be reliable, and willing to take part and seem enthusiastic about it, and not having a problem being filmed. I chose my boyfriend, Luke to be the protagonist, main singer, as he is confident enough to be filmed and knows the song well, he is the perfect person for the video as he has the style and look i am going for in my video.

Main singer - Luke Dinsdale

3 October

  • Due to the rain on 2 October we decided to film Benn's shots playing the guitar and Scott's shot of walking round the corner. We also finished the rest of the filming which we didn't have chance the previous day, once again the rain kept us inside.
  • Medium wide shot of Benn playing the guitar - shot three / Ash wall
  • Medium close up of Benn playing the guitar - shot six / Ash wall
  • Original film syntax: Scott walking towards the camera with a slight zoom in from around the (possibly) electric block - shot seven / Electric box opposite the side of Oak
  • Reverse film syntax: Scott walking away from the camera down between parked cars - shot eight / Kelvin car park
  • Long shot of Scott walking behind the park car - shot nine / Kelvin car park

5 October
  • We needed to film shot four again due to rain on 2 October and not doing the shot properly.
  • Extreme close up of the back of Fozzy's and a slow zoom out - shot four / shoot from the field.
8 October
  • Set up the editing suite.
  • Continue with editing try to be close to finishing.
  • Add the track.
  • Edit the shots of Benn to fit in with the music due to the lip sync.

Can you tell the style/genre by what they wear? How does it compare to your favourite genre? What aspects do you like/dislike?

Eddie The Gun - Never (feat. Missing Andy) Lyrics

Why do I never feel love, you're always taking and I'm always let down.
And I don't know what you want. You build me up and I crash to the ground.
Ground

Never did I feel that you loved me, why do i fell like I'm the end of the line.
Never have i felt oh so lonely, why do I feel like this now time after time.
Why do I feel like this now time after time, Why do I feel like there's distance.
Repeat ---

Last train home got to get aboard, I don't really know now if I can carry on.
I feel so tired and god it feels wrong, I think its time we're going now, we're going now,
we're going home.
Repeat ---

Why do I never feel love, you're always taking and I'm always let down.
And I don't know what you want. You build me up and I crash to the ground .

Never did I feel that you loved me, why do i fell like I'm the end of the line.
Never have i felt oh so lonely, why do I feel like this now time after time.
Why do I feel like this now time after time. Why do I feel like there's distance.

Why do I never feel love, you're always taking and I'm always let down.
And I don't know what you want. You build me up and I crash to the ground .
You build me up and I crash to the ground.
No I never feel love, no I never feel love oh oh oooh.

Never did I feel that you loved me, why do i fell like I'm the end of the line.
Never have i felt oh so lonely, why do I feel like this now time after time.
Why do I feel like this now time after time. Why do I feel like there's distance.

Audience Key Terms

Qualitative Data - Qualitative methods are ways of collecting data which are concerned with describing meaning, rather than with drawing statistical inferences. What qualitative methods (e.g. case studies and interviews) lose on reliability they gain in terms of validity.  They provide a more in depth and rich description.

Quantitative Data - Quantitative methods have come under considerable criticism.  In modern research, most psychologists tend to adopt a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches, which allow statistically reliable information obtained from numerical measurement to be backed up by and enriched by information about the research participants' explanations.

Demographic Data -  Demographic data is current statistical characteristics of a population.

Psychographic Data - Psychographics is the study of personality, values, attitudes, interests, and lifestyles.

Conventions Of Music Videos

Camera Shot

Music videos usually include long shots, mid shots and close ups, this is to create emphasis on the artist or band and the emotions and location of the video. Close ups show emotion but, also reflect the words been sung with the movement of lips from the band/artist. The movement of the camera is used to follow the band/artist and uses tilts, tracking shots, pans and also crane shots.

Mise-en-scene

This is the props, costume, colour, lighting, set design and location.

needs finishing

Genre Of Music

Eddie The Gun song Never falls into the genre of Pop / Rock which is what they class themselves as and here are some examples of them and artists of the same genre...

Chosen Song

I have chosen the song Never by Eddie the Gun Feat Missing Andy singer Alex Greaves for my music video.
I chose this song as I originally wanted to do a song by Missing Andy but found it to complicated to find 5 boys to feature in a video dressed as mods so found this track better as it features the main singer and another band that aren't very well known. Eddie the Gun are a pop/rock 4 piece band based in London originally called Dolls house. They won London's night unsigned competition in 2007 and are now in America.
